Studies show that if you add curiosity (something random and intriguing) and urgency (for example - 'open this today') into your subject lines... and write everything in 'lower case' - it will help increase your open rates.

What's been going on this week?
It's been exciting to see the Betatron network grow even bigger each week.
On Tuesdays, we hold cohort update sessions, where our startups share their week's activities with our partners, mentors, and investors.
I think we're going to eventually need a bigger meeting room, as more and more of our network are coming to attend the sessions.
This is perfect for our startups, as it helps them gain exposure to potential new investors each week.
Not only do we encourage our startups to share their highlights, but we also ensure them to share the problems and challenges they're currently facing.
Naturally, we all want to share good news and focus on the positives.
But, what drives us forward, and helps us generate the most traction is sharing what you need help with the most.
Whether that's introductions to potential clients, advice on how to structure your next funding round or help to design your product's user interface.
The quicker you ask for help, the quicker your problems get solved.
Here's what you need to do BEFORE running your next marketing campaign
Last week's interactive workshop was held by one of our mentors, Karin Munasinghe, and was based on 'developing a marketing strategy'.
Determining WHO your target customer is and then creating a POSITIONING STATEMENT is a crucial task to complete before you start any marketing campaigns.
A positioning statement should be written in a format that includes:
1. An identification of the target market
2. The market need
3. The product name and category
4. The key benefits delivered
5. The basis of the product's differentiation from any competing alternatives
For example, here's how Betatron's positioning statement would look based on the five points above.
(1) For founders (2) who want to optimize and scale their startup, (3/4) Betatron invests in promising startups, refines their business models and fast-tracks them to grow and scale over an intensive four-month period. IC Workshop won 'Most Favourable Pitch' at Jumpstarter's Big Data & A.I Semi-Finals and was invited to a conference in Japan to discuss the future trend of regulations and standards for IoT & smart devices.
PAKT just closed an exciting partnership with HSBC and have several other large corporates in the pipeline.
Trip Guru won the Pitch Night Semi-Finals at CoCoon and are also a finalist at the British Angel Network's pitching competition.
Pixofy secured a new client and are exploring some interesting opportunities to partner with e-commerce platforms.
